Photo c. 1919 of graves of American war dead buried at the American Red Cross headquarters at Savenay France. At least a few of them died of influenza/pneumonia.
Research shows that several of these were later reburied at the Oise-Aisne American Cemetery Seringes-et- Nesles. Others, at the choice of their families, may have been repatriated to be buried at home.
Oise-Aisne American Cemetery lies about a mile east of Fère-en-Tardenois, which is 14 miles northeast of Chateau-Thierry.
